The Creation of this Project

I created this view by taking latitude and longitude coordinates with a hand-held GPS. The points were entered into ArcView, a GIS mapping program, and the view was created.

At Boonsboro Country Club, just outside of Lynchburg, Virginia, the par-5 first gives players a challenge from the get-go. The hole, recently changed to have a split fairway, forces players to decide off the first tee whether to "let the big dog eat" or play it safe--landing a shorter club in the flat playing area at the end of the first fairway. The green is easily reachable in two, but watch out for the tree on the right side of the green and the bunkers guarding the front: they can easily turn a par into a double bogey...
