3 Water quality testing - Millipore (groups of two)

Read plates Monday, complete report sheet

Make final plans for project

Annotated Bibliography #1 Due

4 Work on project design/media etc.

Set up antibiotic resistance test

Annotated Bibliography #2 Due

5 Work on projects

Quiz on techniques, complete skill check (gram staining, micro transferring)

Turn in micro application assignment

6 Project write-up due

TURN IN PROJECT WRITE-UP WITH EVALUATION SHEET AND FOLDER--NO LATE PAPERS!

 

            Notes: 
            Students must sign in/out with me each Friday for attendance
            Students must read the "Working with DNA & Bacteria..." and sign safety pledge
          
            Assigned work not turned in on time will be counted LATE and points will be deducted.
                           Work turned in MORE THAN ONE WEEK LATE will not be graded.  
                           ALL PROJECTS/ANNOTATED BIBS must be TYPED.
            Annotated bibliographies may come from scientific articles you find which deal with microbiological 
                   organisms or applications.  You can use the sources in the reference shelf
                   DO NOT TAKE THEM FROM THE LAB--REQUEST COPIES BE MADE.
            GRADING-annotated bibliographies-5 points each
                              quiz-20 points
                              skills-25 points
                              time management-10 points
                              project and (WWW/HTML Assignment)-35 points
                                        The project write-up will contain the following sections:
                                                Purpose
                                                Materials and Methods (follow Diagram)
                                                Results
                                                Discussion/Conclusion
                              Each student will conduct his/her own project
