Although the radioactive sources that will be used in the lab are not dangerous, it is important to follow instructions carefully in the safe handling and storage of them. The Geiger and scintillation tubes are delicate instruments and can easily be damaged if not handled properly. Students are expected to read the laboratory safety rules for the tech lab they are working in and to sign a lab safety agreement form that says they have read the safety rules and agree to follow the safety precautions and proper procedures at all times.
