Data Visualization In the Two Dimensional Graph section we plotted two variables; an independent and a dependent. In the Three Dimensional Graph section, we plotted three variables by adding a second independent variable to the third axis. If you have not explored these sections, please do so before delving into this section. However, scientists often deal with problems that have many variables. What if you have more than two independent variables? You don't have a fourth axis to plot it on! In this section, you will be introduced to the concept of data visualization where color is used to represent variables in a graph. This makes it possible to represent more than three variables on a 3D graph!! Copyright © 1998 Central Virginia Governor's School for Science and Technology Lynchburg, VA |
