Part 1

Design a logic circuit to add two 4-bit numbers using AND, OR, XOR and NOT gates.  Remember that ...

  1. AND, OR and XOR gates have exactly 2 inputs and 1 output.
  2. the "one's" place circuit does not have a "carry in" input.
  3. we will assume there is no "carry out" output in the "eight's" place circuit, no matter if there actually is or not
  4. the Exclusive OR (XOR) operator has the following truth table:

Part 2

Design a logic circuit to multiply two 2-bit numbers using AND, OR, XOR and NOT gates.  You may assume the output will be sent to a 4-bit number.

 

You must CLEARLY LABEL all work!  This is an individual project.  You may NOT discuss this project with fellow classmates!  Turn in this sheet with you work with the pledge signed!
