CVGS Students Win C-SPAN Award

This spring Central Virginia Governor's School students Andy Locascio and Drew Precious made an award-winning documentary for C-SPAN's StudentCam competition.  StudentCam is a national documentary competition for students in grades 6 through 12.  This year's competition included over 1,200 entries from 40 states.  The competition's theme was "The Constitution and You: select any provision from the Constitution and make a documentary on why it is important to you."  Drew and Andy won 2nd Prize for the high school category in this national competition.  On Wednesday, May 9, 2012, Chris DeManche and Craig McAndrew of C-SPAN will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia, to honor and recognize this achievement in an assembly of all the Governor's School students and faculty beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium of Heritage High School.
