New Student Orientation 2012

We are looking forward to welcoming our new junior students at our New Student Orientation 2012!  We will meet from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day on Monday, June 11, Tuesday, June 12, Wednesday, June 13, and at the end of the summer on Friday, August 10. These orientation days are very important, as students will come to know the facility, the staff, each other, and a great deal about research!  If a student must miss even a portion of a day for any reason, he or she must contact Dr. Smith as soon as possible.

CVGS Exams April 24 and 25

CVGS families are reminded that our second semester exams are coming soon:  math exams are on April 24, science exams on April 25!  We schedule our second semester exams early so that they don't conflict with the testing programs in the home high schools.  Students are expected to be present on both exam days, and any exceptions must be approved in advance by the CVGS Director, Dr. Steve Smith.

Research Symposium 4/17/12 (7 pm)

Once again our student researchers will be presenting their projects and their findings here at CVGS!  Family and friends are invited to come by and see some outstanding presentations that are the culumination of months and months of hard work.

Senior Science Trip March 27, 2012

The seniors are taking the train to D.C., then splitting into three groups for specific activities based on their senior science course. The computer science students will visit the National Research Laboratory, the biology students will visit the National Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and the anatomy and physiology students will visit the National Museum of Natural History.  It should be a great trip for everyone!
