I have worked at the Governor’s School since 2012 and currently serve as the Program Coordinator. I am originally from Pennsylvania and graduated from Lynchburg College with a B.S. degree in Biology and a minor in Spanish. After graduation I worked in the pharmaceutical field using micro emulsion technology to enhance drug delivery systems. I also performed stability studies for a company whose main interests were drugs to help people with ALS and narcolepsy. I met my husband here in Lynchburg, and he now works in the central office for Appomattox County Public Schools.
After having my two children, I was a stay at home mom for many years. I then worked at a preschool as a teacher and assistant director. It is so fun to see some of the students I taught in preschool now at the Governor’s School!
Both of my children graduated from the Governor’s School. My daughter has since graduated from the honors program at The University of Tampa and now works for the New York Yankees, Florida Operations in Tampa (my husband is a lifelong Yankees fan so he is loving this!!) My son is currently in the Presidential Leadership Program and Honors Program at Christopher Newport University.
In my free time I love to read and travel. Growing up, both of my parents were travel agents, so I have been very fortunate to have had travel be a part of my life. As a junior in high school I even spent a year in Bolivia as an exchange student, which really brought traveling to a whole new level! I have also recently started running, so if you see me on the trail, be sure to stop and say hi! ☺
