CVGS 2026-27 Calendar Approved

Dr. Smith Retired June 30, 2026

The Central Virginia Governor’s School Governing Board announces an upcoming leadership transition. Director Dr. Stephen Smith retired on June 30, 2026, after sixteen years. Following a comprehensive search, the Governing Board voted unanimously on November 10, 2025, to appoint Assistant Director Dr. Scott Douglass as the next director, effective July 1, 2026. Regional Science Fair

The annual Central Virginia Regional Science Fair (CVRSF) took place on Saturday, March 14 at CVCC. It was a great showing of student research! Many individual awards were given, and 10 CVGS students advanced to the Virginia State Science & Engineering Fair. See full list of awards below.
